Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2014
Pernille Sejlund
was born in 1979. She studied at the University of Copenhagen’s division of musicology, and in composition at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. She has won prizes for her compositions and has several times been selected for UNM (Young Nordic Music). Pernille Sejlund has composed music for DR PigeKoret (female choir), Trio Zoom, Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, Copenhagen Phil and Aalborg Symphony Orchestra as well as for dance events, children’s stories, musicals, theatre and short film. As a singer, she has sung in DR PigeKoret, Touché, Ea Philippa band and Transister Radio Girls. In 2014 Pernille Sejlund is festival composer at the Rudersdal Summer Concerts.

Scholarship of Kr. 60,000 used for composition and CD recording of music for ClimaX, which focuses on the earth’s climate, and in which there is an interplay between music and words spoken by the DR meteorologist Jesper Theilgaard.
