Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2022
Mathias Skaarup Sørensen was born in 1989 in Aarhus, Denmark. He started his musical career as a drummer in Odder Garden and later took a degree in percussion at the Jutland Conservatory of Music, from which he is also trained in classical choral conducting. Today, he is the conductor of the chamber choir Ensemble Edge and the chamber orchestra Bellbird, both of which convey new compositional music to new audiences.
