Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2015
(b. 1989) works as an electronic musician/composer and percussionist, with his base in Copenhagen. In recent years, he has focused on solo projects, gaining considerable inspiration from both earlier and contemporary experimental electronic/electro-acoustic music. In 2014, he started his own label and his own artistic platform, arbitrary.
This has resulted in the solo release PM016 on the American label Plant Migration Records, the audiovisual project FRAMEWORK with graphic scores and sound, solo concerts at such venues as Wundergrund Festival 2014 and diverse reworks contributions to exhibitions (Notations21 in N.Y. and (h)ear XL II in the Netherlands, for example) as well as film and theatre performances. In 2015, Mads Emil Nielsen is going to work at EMS (Elektronmusikstudion) in Stockholm and complete his soloist studies in composition at the Rhytmic Music Conservatory (RMC) in Copenhagen.
