Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2016
Jonas Lyskjær Frølund started playing the clarinet at the age of 10. He was later admitted to the 4-year talent course, MGK, at Sankt Annæ Gymnasium under John Kruse. He studies under Lee Morgan at the Royal Danish Academy of Music while finishing his MGK studies at the same time. Jonas Lyskjær Frølund has won the 1stprice at Øresunds Solist and at XIV Concorso Internazionale di Musica Marco Fiorindo 2014. He has received Jacob Gade’s Scholarship and the P2 Talent Prize in 2015, and in 2016 he will receive Betty and Valdemar van Hauen’s scholarship. As a chamber musician, Jonas Frølund has performed at Schubertiaden in Roskilde, the Copenhagen Summer Festival and the Hindsgavl Festival. He has been taught by Yehuda Gilad, Andreas Sundén and Michel Arrignon.
Scholarship
The scholarship of DKK 60,000 is to be used for continued studies under Yehuda Gilad, Andreas Sundén, Philippe Berrod, Pascal Moragues and Olli Leppäniemi.
