Jákup Lützen

Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2016

Jákup Lützen (b. 1988) was born and raised in the Faeroe Islands. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2013 and was subsequently admitted to the soloist class under Lars Anders Tomter. In 2013, Jákup Lützen was admitted to Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester with which he has been on tour. The same year, the Faroe Music Awards nominated him New musician of the year. In 2014, Jákup Lützen was admitted to the Copenhagen Phil as viola player.

Scholarship

The scholarship of DKK 60,000 is to be used for buying a viola made by Hiroshi Iizuka.
