éonie Sonning Talent Prize 2014
was born and grew up in Drammen, Norway. She started her musical studies under Claus Olesen at The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg and holds a BA and MA in classical saxophone. She is now in the soloist class at the same academy. She has also studied under Lars Mlekusch at the Conservatory of Vienna, and has a postgraduate qualification from Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, where she has studied under Nacho Gascón.
Anja Nedremo has received a number of scholarships and grants, such as the Norwegian Ticon Prize (2013). As a soloist, she has won competitions at home and abroad. As winner of the soloist competition at The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg, she will be giving two concerts with the Randers Chamber Orchestra in 2015. She has on-going collaboration with composers in Europe and Scandinavia. In 2013, she is going to travel to Japan with Trio Nedremo to play and promote new Scandinavian music as well as to strengthen ties between Scandinavia and Japanese musicians/composers.
The scholarship
The scholarship of DKK 60,000 will be used for studying under Vincent David in Versailles and Arno Bornkamp in Amsterdam. Also for participation in international festivals for classical saxophone in cities including Vienna and Helsinki.
