Léonie Sonning Talent Prize 2016
After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Music where she studied under Niklas Sivelöv, Elisabeth Holmegaard Nielsen was admitted to the soloist class studying under Marianna Shirinyan and to Universität für Musik in Vienna under Christopher Hinterhuber.
She will make her debut in 2017. Elisabeth Holmegaard Nielsen has won prizes at international competitions and has been a soloist with the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra. She regularly performs at international festivals, plays chamber music and participates in projects across genres with reading, music and pictures.
She arranges master classes and has been the initiator of a Carl Nielsen celebration with a string of concerts in Denmark, the Ukraine, Austria and Italy. Elisabeth Holmegaard Nielsen has recorded CD’s with works of Bach, Schumann and Prokofiev.

Scholarship
The scholarship of DKK 60,000 is to be used for continued piano studies under Christopher Hinterhuber at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
